BYD opened pre-orders in China for the Sealion 08 SUV on Thursday, August 13, setting up the launch of the flagship model of its Ocean lineup. The plug-in hybrid DM-i version is listed at 230,000 to 260,000 yuan ($33,880 to $38,300), while the all-electric version is priced from 250,000 to 280,000 yuan, according to BYD’s mobile app.<\/p>\n

The Sealion 08 is the second of two flagship models in the Ocean lineup, following the Seal 08 sedan. BYD is reshaping its premium offerings around four flagship models: the Seal 08 and Sealion 08 from Ocean, plus the Da Tang SUV, launched in June, and the Da Han sedan, expected to be unveiled at the Chengdu Auto Show next week.<\/p>\n
