BYD’s Fang Cheng Bao brand will launch the BYD FCB Ti 9 full-size plug-in hybrid SUV in China after November 15, 2026, according to an announcement by General Manager Xiong Tianbo. The domestic debut of the Shark plug-in hybrid pickup will follow in late November or early December. Display and test-drive vehicles are expected at dealerships in late October, giving buyers an early look before the official launch. The Ti 9 becomes the flagship of Fang Cheng Bao’s Ti series, which targets urban families with unibody SUVs. The Shark, already sold internationally since its Mexico debut in May 2024, now prepares for its home-market entry. Neither model has announced pricing or trim levels yet.

BYD FCB Ti 9: A New Flagship for Urban Families
The BYD FCB Ti 9 is the largest model in Fang Cheng Bao’s Ti lineup, which focuses on comfort-oriented, road-biased SUVs rather than the rugged body-on-frame approach of the Bao 5 and Bao 8. It adopts a monocoque structure and BYD’s DMS hybrid platform, signaling a shift toward family-friendly packaging. With a six-seat layout and a claimed 310 km of electric-only range, the Ti 9 aims to compete in China’s growing large PHEV SUV segment. The model will sit at the top of the Ti range, which already includes smaller siblings. For overseas buyers monitoring BYD’s premium offerings, the Ti 9 represents the brand’s latest push into high-margin family vehicles.
Dimensions and Design
The Ti 9 measures 5,270 mm long, 1,999 mm wide and 1,880 mm tall, with a 3,130 mm wheelbase. These dimensions place it firmly in the full-size SUV class, offering generous interior space. Exterior finishes include six options: Flowing Light Gold, Universal Silver, Starburst Gold, Crimson Cloud Red, Deep Space Blue and Meteorite Black, available in solid and two-tone configurations. The design language follows Fang Cheng Bao’s recent models, with a bold front fascia and clean side profile. The Flowing Light Gold finish shown in official images highlights the vehicle’s premium positioning.
Powertrain and Performance
The plug-in hybrid powertrain combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine rated at 115 kW (154 hp) with two electric motors producing up to 200 kW each. Combined output reaches 400 kW (536 hp), driving both axles. A 66.48 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery from BYD’s FinDreams Battery delivers a claimed 310 km of electric-only range under the WLTC test cycle. BYD also claims a total range exceeding 1,600 km with a full tank and fully charged battery. The Ti 9 features flash-charging technology and second-generation Blade batteries, which are detailed on our BYD Blade battery page.
Interior and Equipment
The cabin features a six-seat, 2+2+2 layout with independent second-row seats. Equipment includes heating, ventilation, and massage functions across all three rows, a 30-inch panoramic front display, and a 21.4-inch ceiling-mounted, fold-down rear entertainment screen. Standard across all trims are BYD’s DiSus-A air suspension with road-preview capability and the iATS (Intelligent All-Terrain System). These features position the Ti 9 as a luxury-focused family SUV, competing with established premium brands in China.
Fang Cheng Bao Shark Pickup Prepares for Domestic Launch
Fang Cheng Bao plans to introduce the Shark plug-in hybrid pickup in China in late November or early December 2026. The model debuted in Mexico in May 2024 and has since entered international markets. China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) lists the domestic version as a light-duty multipurpose truck. It measures 5,457 mm long, 1,971 mm wide and 1,925 mm tall, with a 3,260 mm wheelbase. The cargo bed measures 1,520 × 1,530 × 515 mm. The filing lists a curb weight of 2,710 kg, a gross vehicle weight rating of 3,495 kg and a rated payload of 460 kg.

Powertrain and Specifications
The domestic Shark uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, designated BYD476ZQF, with a net output of 135 kW (181 hp). Its all-wheel-drive system pairs a 170 kW front electric motor with a 150 kW rear motor, delivering a combined peak electric-motor output of 320 kW (429 hp). The listed maximum speed is 180 km/h. An LFP battery supplied by Xi’an FinDreams Battery powers the plug-in hybrid system. Available domestic regulatory specifications do not list battery capacity or electric-only range, so overseas figures should not be treated as confirmed specifications for the Chinese version.
Market Positioning
The Shark extends Fang Cheng Bao into the pickup segment, a growing category in China as regulations ease. The brand’s premium positioning and plug-in hybrid technology could appeal to commercial and lifestyle buyers. However, pricing remains unannounced, and the domestic version’s specifications may differ from export models. Overseas buyers interested in the Shark should await official Chinese pricing and specs before making purchasing decisions. For a full lineup of BYD models, visit our BYD car models page.
Fang Cheng Bao Sales Momentum
Fang Cheng Bao is a premium BYD brand that sold around 126,000 cars in the third quarter of 2026, up 131% from the same period last year. This growth underscores the brand’s rising acceptance among Chinese consumers. The launch of the Ti 9 and Shark is expected to further boost sales in the fourth quarter and beyond. The brand’s expanding portfolio, from off-road SUVs to urban family vehicles and now pickups, reflects BYD’s strategy to cover multiple segments with distinct identities.
What to Watch Next
Official pricing and trim levels for both the BYD FCB Ti 9 and the Shark pickup are expected around their respective launch dates. Watch for MIIT filings that may reveal additional specifications, such as battery capacity and electric-only range for the domestic Shark. Dealer allocations and initial production volumes will indicate how quickly Fang Cheng Bao can meet demand. For overseas buyers, the key question is whether these models will be exported and when. We’ll continue to monitor announcements from BYD and Fang Cheng Bao.
