Most BYD owners start with practical BYD accessories: storage organisers for the boot (trunk), frunk and centre console, protection such as mud flaps and door sill covers, and small fixes like a brighter boot light. Styling parts such as front lips and spoilers usually come later. Before you buy any of them, check your exact model name, version and year.
That last check matters more with BYD than with many brands. The same car is often sold under different names in different markets, and an EV and a DM-i plug-in hybrid with the same badge can have very different spaces under the bonnet and boot floor.
This guide groups the common accessories by what they do, explains what to look at for each type, and ends with a short checklist you can use before ordering for an ATTO 3, ATTO 2, Dolphin, Seal, Seal U, Sealion 7 or Shark.
Which BYD accessories do owners usually add first?
Practical accessories tend to solve an everyday annoyance: loose items rolling around, scuffed sills, mud on the paint or a dark boot at night. Here is how the main groups compare.
| Group | Typical items | Why people fit them | Main thing to check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Storage and organisers | Frunk boxes, underfloor boot trays, console and cup-holder inserts, seat-back hooks | Use empty spaces and stop items sliding about | Exact model, EV or DM-i, left- or right-hand drive |
| Protection | Mud flaps, door sill protectors, armrest covers, floor mats and boot liners | Protect paint and trim from daily wear | How it fits: screws, adhesive or slip-on |
| Convenience | Boot LED light, key covers | Small daily improvements | Model list on the listing and how it is powered |
| Styling | Front lips, side skirts, rear diffusers, spoilers, trims | Change the look of the car | Fitment, finish, sensors and local road rules |
| Pickup (Shark) | Bed covers, canopies, bull bars, roof platforms | Carry and protect loads | Pickup version, load needs and how it mounts |
Storage accessories: frunk, boot and cabin
Frunk boxes
Many electric BYD models have a front compartment under the bonnet. Left empty, it is a shallow space where charging cables and cleaning kit slide around. A moulded frunk box divides it into compartments and gives a flat, wipe-clean floor.
Fit depends on the exact version. Our frunk storage box for the BYD Yuan Up / ATTO 2 is made for left-hand-drive cars, and the SEAL U EV frunk storage box fits the battery-electric SEAL U EV / Song Plus EV only. The DM-i plug-in hybrid versions carry an engine under the bonnet, so they have no frunk to fill. If you own an ATTO 2, our guide Does the BYD Atto 2 have a frunk? explains the front storage options in more detail.

Underfloor boot trays
Under the boot floor of many BYD models there is a spare-wheel well or open space with loose tools. An underfloor tray turns it into fixed slots for emergency gear and small items while the main boot floor stays free for luggage.
These trays are shaped for one car. The underfloor trunk tray for the BYD ATTO 3 / Yuan Plus has recesses for the spare wheel and tools, and is listed for left-hand-drive cars. For the plug-in hybrid SUV, the Song Plus DM-i / SEAL U DM-i trunk storage box fastens with the car’s own boot screws and has slots for a warning triangle, extinguisher and charging gun.
Cabin organisers
Cabin organisers are the cheapest way to make a BYD interior easier to live with. On the Dolphin, for example, the open space under the centre console is handy but small items slide out of it. A shaped tray such as our Dolphin under-console storage box adds divided sections with a textured liner, and a Dolphin front cup holder insert holds two drinks firmly.
Some small organisers are not model-specific at all. Our seat-back hooks are listed for all BYD models, but headrest designs vary, so compare the photos with your seats before you order.

Protection accessories: mud flaps, sill protectors and covers
Protection parts are about keeping the car tidy as it ages. The most useful ones cover the areas that take the most wear: the lower body behind the wheels, the door sills and high-contact trim inside.
- Mud flaps. They sit behind each wheel and catch mud, sand and stones before they hit the paint. Our mud flaps for the BYD Yuan Up / ATTO 2 are a 4-piece PVC set for 2024–2025 models that fits to the car’s existing mounting points with 8 screws.
- Door sill protectors. Shoes scuff the sills every time you get in. Our door sill protectors are impact-resistant ABS with a printed carbon-fibre-look pattern (not real carbon fibre) and fit with pre-applied adhesive, so no drilling is needed. Model-specific versions are offered for selected BYD models.
- Armrest covers. The centre armrest takes a lot of elbow wear. The Song Plus armrest box cover is liquid silicone and slips on with no tools, for Song Plus DM-i and EV models from 2021–2025.
- Floor mats and boot liners. Look for a model-specific shape with raised edges, and check that it works with the car’s floor anchors so it can’t slide under the pedals.

Small convenience upgrades
Some useful accessories are very small. If your boot is dim at night, our BYD trunk LED light clips in place of the tailgate’s interior panel with no drilling or wiring, charges by USB-C and has three modes: on for one minute, on for one hour, or an emergency flashing light. You choose your model from a list that includes the ATTO 3, Seal U, Dolphin, ATTO 2 and Sealion 06.
Key covers are another easy first buy. They protect the key from drops and scratches, but BYD uses several key shapes, so match the photos on the listing to your own key before ordering.
Styling parts: lips, spoilers and trims
Exterior styling parts usually come after the practical items, once owners know how they use the car. A front lip, side skirts, a rear diffuser or a spoiler changes the look a lot for the money, but on a road car these parts are mainly cosmetic. If you are new to them, start with what a car body kit is.
Model guides help you see what exists for your car. Seal owners can read our BYD Seal body kit guide, and Sealion 7 owners the BYD Sealion 7 body kit guide.
Seal U DM-i, Sealion 6 and Song Plus owners can use our BYD Seal U DM-i / Sealion 6 body kit guide.
Before fitting any exterior part, check three things: that it clears parking sensors and cameras, that a low front lip suits your driveway and speed bumps, and that it is allowed where you drive.

Are exterior accessories legal?
Rules on exterior changes differ by country, especially for parts that change the car’s outline, lights or sharp edges. Our country guides explain what to check:
- Europe: Spain, Denmark, Poland, Norway, the UK and Turkey
- Middle East: UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain
- Asia-Pacific: Australia
What to check before you buy any BYD accessory
Run through these points before you pay. They decide whether a part fits your car.
- Your model’s name on the listing. BYD uses different names by market. On our listings, the ATTO 3 is also called the Yuan Plus, the ATTO 2 the Yuan Up, the SEAL U DM-i the Song Plus DM-i (and Sealion 6 on the body kit), and the Dolphin Mini the Seagull. If your car’s name isn’t on the listing, ask before ordering.
- EV or DM-i. Electric and plug-in hybrid versions can share a name but not the same spaces. Frunk boxes and some underfloor trays are made for one or the other.
- Left- or right-hand drive. Several storage parts are listed for left-hand-drive cars. Right-hand-drive owners in Australia and other markets should check this first.
- Model year and facelift. Shapes can change between years. Listings that give a year range, such as 2024–2025 for the ATTO 2 mud flaps, are telling you exactly which cars they were made for.
- How it fits. Clip-in, adhesive, slip-on or screws into existing points are all easy to undo. Anything that needs drilling is a bigger decision on a newer car.
- Material. Each listing states it. Most Marvix exterior styling parts are ABS, with some PP options; storage trays are moulded plastic, and flexible parts like mud flaps or armrest covers use PVC or silicone.
- Warranty and insurance. If you are unsure whether an accessory affects your new-car warranty or insurance, ask your dealer or insurer before fitting it.
Not sure which version you have? Send us your model, year or VIN and a photo of the area, and we’ll check the fit for you.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the most useful BYD accessories?
For most owners, storage organisers (frunk box, underfloor tray, console inserts) and protection parts (mud flaps, sill protectors, mats) give the most day-to-day benefit. Styling parts are a personal choice that usually comes later.
Do BYD accessories fit all BYD models?
Very few do. A handful of small items, such as seat-back hooks, are listed for all BYD models, but most accessories are shaped for one model and sometimes one version or year.
Is the BYD ATTO 3 the same car as the Yuan Plus?
Our listings use both names for the same car, which is called the Yuan Plus in China. Still check whether a part is listed for left- or right-hand drive.
Does the BYD SEAL U DM-i have a frunk?
No. The DM-i plug-in hybrid has an engine under the bonnet. Our frunk box is made for the battery-electric SEAL U EV / Song Plus EV, while the DM-i has an underfloor trunk storage box instead.
Do I need to drill holes to fit BYD accessories?
Usually not. The trunk LED light clips in, the sill protectors use adhesive, the armrest cover slips on and the SEAL U EV frunk box fits without drilling. The ATTO 2 mud flaps use screws into the car’s existing mounting points.
